LEST WE FORGET: Yesterday marked the date
of the brazen terrorist act of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani terrorist group.
The attack in Mumbai, India, shook the world, India and its historic Jewish
community. Yes, time stood still at 2120 hours on the night of Nov. 26, 2008
throughout Mumbai. It was one of the worst terrorist attacks in history in
which 174 persons, including nine gunmen lost their lives. Included in the
carnage were six Jews at Chabad’s Nariman House, among them, Rabbi Gavriel
Holtzberg and his wife, Rivka. Check my chapter on India in “The Scattered Tribe:
Traveling the Diaspora from Cuba to India to Tahiti & Beyond,” (Globe
